Our do-it-yourself process is easy and affordable. Follow the 6 simple steps below and choose “Create an Account” for a debt free fresh start.

1. Make Sure You Qualify

A lot of people simply do not qualify for an Offer in Compromise. The Fresh Start program is great for tax relief, but you need to make sure this is a productive use of your time before you start.

Make sure you have used the IRS Pre-Qualifier to see what kind of tax debt help is available to you.

You can also check this questionnaire to make sure you are a good candidate for this service.

2. Schedule Your Consultation If Applicable

If you have selected the Gold or Platinum service plan please schedule your free 15 minute consultation.

3. Gather Your Documents and Fill Out the Questionnaire

There is no one list here, but generally you are going to need your most recent bank and credit card statements, pay stubs, retirement account summaries, mortgage and vehicle loan statements and your most recent tax return.

The questionnaire is set to only ask for relevant questions. If you have your documents, you can fill out the form in under 30 minutes usually.

Don’t worry if you need to stop. You can also save your place and come back to it when you are ready.

4. Pay Your Fee and Receive Your Documents

You pay nothing until you know what relief you are entitled to. When you have your results and are sure you want to proceed, you will receive in an invoice to pay. You can pay by credit card, debit card or check.

Once your documents have been reviewed by your CPA and Enrolled Agent, you will receive documents ready for signature in the mail along with filing instructions and a checklist of the required documentation.

5. Mail Paperwork to the IRS and State Along With the Initial Payment

The time has come to actually submit your paperwork. You will need to send in the paperwork along with two checks or money orders. The first check is for the application fee of $186.00 which might not be necessary. The second check is the first payment for your offer in compromise. Again, if your income is low enough, this will not be necessary.

6. Wait for an Answer

Generally, sixty days after you mail off your paperwork, you will receive a letter from the IRS confirming receipt and give you a four month timeline for their response. No action is required at this point.

The next correspondence will be either an acceptance of your offer, a rejection of your offer or a request for more information. If you filled out the paperwork correctly and included all the required documentation, you can expect to receive an acceptance.
